Don't let the title of 'small' fool you. The Small Sword of the eighteenth century is arguably the deadliest sword to appear in Europe and was to dominate the scene of personal defence until the evolution of the gun.
Quick, deadly and the sword of gentleman, courtiers and kings the small sword is just as much a statement of class as it is of violent possibilities. Featured in plays such as 'les Dangerous Liaisons', and films like 'The Count of Monte Cristo' the ability to use one is a useful tool in the actor's box.
During the course students will learn the techniques required to perform an effective smallsword fight and will have the opportunity at the end of the course to take the British Academy of Stage & Screen Combat Fight Performance Test. The course will also focus on acting skills and students will be expanding upon their knowledge of performing a dramatic fight scene with dialogue.

"I expected a high level of professionalism, experience and knowledge from the teacher, and for this to be passed on in a clear, safe and most of all, enjoyable way. Not only did it meet my expectations, but exceed them.
I thought they were brilliant, they were always willing to help you as an individual, not just a pupil in a class. They were able to continuously adapt to individuals changing levels of experience and understanding, while helping you to push yourself.
It didn't feel like a class, it felt more like having a laugh with some friends, but still we managed to learn, be safe and push ourselves.
