ID Fight offer a comprehensive suite of courses designed to enhance your skills across various disciplines, e.g.:
Unarmed Stage Combat Course:
Focus: Learn techniques used in stage and screen combat, including choreographed fighting, safety protocols, and performance skills.
Connection: Understanding the difference between self-defence and stage combat is crucial. While self-defence focuses on real-world applications to protect yourself, stage combat emphasises performance and safety to create believable fight scenes without causing harm.
Falling and Reactions Course:
Focus: Master the art of falling safely and reacting convincingly to impacts and attacks, crucial for both performers and stunt professionals.
Connection: The techniques learned in falling and reactions can complement your self-defence skills. Knowing how to fall correctly can prevent injuries during a self-defence situation, and effective reactions can be valuable in both real-life and staged scenarios.
Self-Defence vs. Stage Combat: Self-defence is about real techniques to protect yourself in dangerous situations, focusing on efficiency and effectiveness. Stage combat is a choreographed art form that prioritises safety and visual impact for an audience.
Self-Defence vs. Falling and Reactions: In self-defence, the goal is to minimise damage and escape from threats. Learning to fall and react properly can help you handle physical confrontations safely and is also a valuable skill for anyone involved in performance arts or stunts.
