ID FIGHT: Stunt Foundations - An Intro to Stunts

This 3-Day course is for those training to be stunt performers, thinking of getting into stunts, or already working in the stunt industry but would like some more training and development of their core skills.

The bread and butter (foundations) of stunt work is fights, falls and reactions so this course will cover various instances of those categories:

  • Armed and unarmed combat
  • Reactions (such as hits, weapon kills, and gunshots)
  • Impacts (such as tackles, slams and checks)
  • Falls, rolls and stunt falls (such as flat backs, tacos, and Hong Kong twists)
  • Basic jerk backs.
  • Breaking down techniques, camera awareness, body awareness, body mechanics, safety and performance.

For those starting out this will be an introductory course into the types of skills you will need to learn and an opportunity to practice them in a safe space.

For those already training or working, you can work to improve these foundational skills as well as finding more detail and nuance in your performance.

The course will be run by a working stunt/fight coordinator

Crash mats and weapons will be provided.
