Description

Step into the world of elite soldiers and special operations units. From high‑intensity military thrillers to tactical police dramas, authentic weapon handling and movement define some of the most gripping moments on screen. This one‑day intensive course gives you the skills, confidence, and tactical awareness to better portray a professional soldier with accuracy and presence — using safe, replica firearms in realistic performance scenarios.

Who Is This Course For?

Everyone. No previous firearms experience needed.

Ideal for:

  • Actors preparing for roles involving military or tactical teams across film, motion capture and theatre.
  • SPACT and stunt performers looking to sharpen technical realism
  • Creatives seeking hands-on insight into military movement, tactics, and teamwork
  • Anyone eager to build confidence, precision, and on‑camera authenticity in high‑pressure environments

What Will You Achieve?

By the end of the day, you’ll have hands-on, practical experience with:

  • Rifle handling: stances, grip variations, movement, weapon transitions, muzzle discipline
  • Tactical manoeuvres: advancing, covering angles, communication, and team movement
  • Close Quarters Battle (CQB): fast, controlled engagements in tight spaces
  • Room and corridor clearance: dynamic and deliberate entry methods

You’ll train through immersive performance scenarios, receiving continuous, personalised feedback throughout. The aim is skill-building, not assessment — so you can focus completely on learning, improving, and experimenting safely.

You’ll leave with practical, confidence-boosting skills you can list on Spotlight, demonstrating authentic tactical training for stage and screen.

Outside Class

No homework — just bring your energy. All scenario rehearsal and feedback happen during the course.

What to Bring

  • Comfortable movement clothes (Feel free to wear all black or military themed clothing). We will provide tactical vests and holsters.
  • A reusable water bottle
  • Note taking materials

All replica  firearms and safety equipment are provided. We have a matted floor so no kneepads needed. We will also provide tactical vests.

Assessment

There is no formal assessment — just continuous coaching, scenario-based training, and improvement-focused feedback. You’ll take part in multiple live tactical scenarios designed to develop strong, screen-ready instincts and technique.

Industry Relevance

Military and tactical work is in constant demand across film, television, online media, motion capture, live events, and immersive performance.
Accurate firearm handling and movement dramatically increases an actor’s credibility in:

  • Action films
  • War dramas
  • Police / counter‑terror thrillers
  • Sci‑fi and dystopian productions
  • Video games and mocap shoots

These skills help you stand out in auditions and build trust on professional sets.
