Description

 

Aerial performance and wire stunts - get your wirework career off the ground!

During this three-day course, we'll be covering action, dance, creature and acrobatic wirework. Open to all levels of experience, we will tailor the training to your needs. Bolt on professional footage option also available. 

Ideal for actors, stunt performers, dancers, gymnasts and circus performers.

Our experienced team of instructors work across many areas of aerial performance, instruction, wire stunts and rigging, will give you a broad approach and unique teaching styles for each technique. Whatever your background our instructors will work to your strengths to unlock your potential.

Our previous instructors have had credits including The Batman, Wicked, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, Cirque du Soleil, The Royal Opera House, London as well as many productions for Netflix, Amazon, Sky, Sony, SEGA, the BBC and more.

COURSE OUTLINE

 

Day one will start with the basics of aerial movement, balance and body control and from then on you can choose your training path based on your experience and interests for the remaining two days.

The course can cover (but not limited to):

  • Basic safety
  • Harness
  • Balance and awareness
  • Static 360 / controlled rotations
  • Grace / Control / Pose / Performance
  • Landing and takeoff
  • Orbital / Pirouette
  • Super hero flying
  • Bungee
  • Aerial acrobatics - flips, somersaults
  • Fluid continual movement and swimming
  • Action / fight choreography
  • Dance choreography / contemporary / breakdance / couples
  • Character / creature movement e.g. animal, beast, vampire, superhero
  • Abstract and surreal content
  • Stunts - jerks, wraps, dead man

With our instructors and your fellow students, you can also create and rehearse choreography around the techniques if you wish. There will be time allocated during the second and third day of the course to shoot each sequence from one or two angles, time permitting.

REUBEN MOSLEY

Reuben Mosley has been performance rigging and coordinating at the worlds' highest level for over 20 years with a highly prolific background in film, events, ceremony, theatre, installation, circus and acrobatics.

Live rigging include Head Rigger and Assistant Designer for Cirque du Soleil in South America and Asia, London Summer Olympics 2012, Sochi Winter Olympics 2014 & Baku 2017.

Film rigging credits include The Batman, Wicked, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, Back in Action.

DAN STYLES

Dan is an experienced stunt coordinator, BADC teacher and co-director of IDFight. Coordinating credits include Avengement, The One Shot Trilogy, Jingle Bell Heist, Turbulence, Everybody Wants to F**k Me, Boudica.

Performance credits include Vikings, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, Kingsman, Thor: The Dark World, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword and many more.

AUSTIN SPANGLER

Austin has over 15 years of professional experience performing, choreographing and directing in the entertainment industry. He is currently a Movement & Action Director at the Royal Opera House & Los Angeles Opera as well as resident Movement Director at LA Opera.

Austin is an instructor at The Aerial Studio California and has worked as Aerial Director, Rigger, Captain and Stunt Performer with the likes of Keanu Reeves, Orlando Bloom, Ralph Fiennes and Placido Domingo.

Film & Music video credits include: 47 Ronin, Offbeat, i-Boy, Allies, Eliminators, Romans, Viking Siege, Embrace Life, 'Jump' by Julia Michaels, '4-minutes' by Madonna and Solomon Grey by Sony Music.

 

DAVE NOLAN

Dave has been working as a Fight and Action Coordinator for over 10 years. His work focuses on creating specific, meaningful, and emotive action in service of the character and story.

Originally trained as an actor and with an MA. in Movement Teaching and Directing, Dave has over 15 years of experience in Actor Movement Training and Movement Direction, giving him a deep understanding of the processes which enables the crafting of action, with the knowledge base to facilitate the actor to learn and perform those action sequences both safely and creatively.

Dave is a certified Combat Instructor and a Taurus World Stunt Award Nominee as a performer.

Credits include: Vikings (Amazon), Tom & Jerry: The Movie (WB), Resident Evil Requiem (Capcom), Battlefield 6, (EA/Criterion), Delta Force: Black Hawk Down, (Novalogic)

 

RONIN TRAYNOR

Ronin is a Master Teacher and President of the British Academy of Stage & Screen Combat, Firearms Instructor with the Society of American Fight Directors, Master at Arms at the International Actor Academy and founder of ID Fight. His teaching clients include RADADSLISSA, and workshops in Europe, Ukraine and the United States.

 

Ronin is an Equity Register Fight Director and has directed action on 500 + productions across Film, TV, Theatre and Motion Capture. Credits include The Intent 2 (Best Action Film - National Film Awards), Olive Green (Best Action & Adventure Film - US International Film Festival), Usagi Yojimbo (Best Choreography nomination, Off West End) and work for BBC 1Ch4Ch5B&Q, Domino’sHeinekenNikeMcCoy’sNetflix, Sony and Sega; including choreographing and performing fights for over 15 years on their Total War series.

PAYMENT OPTIONS

Either book and pay in one go or if needed we are offering students a payment plan to help with the course fees. £400 deposit with balance due by 11th March 2026

You can do bank transfers in any amounts you like as long as the balance is completed by 11th March.
